Slovenska odškodninska družba, d.d., Ljubljana, was established pursuant to the Slovene Compensation Fund Act. It is a financial organization for settling obligations to beneficiaries according to the Denationalization Act, the Act and other regulations regulating the denationalization of assets. It subsequently extended its activities to the settlement of obligations according to the Act Regulating the Issuing of Bonds in Compensation for Confiscated Property pursuant to the Abrogation of the Penalty of Confiscation of Property, the Payment of Compensation to the Victims of War and Postwar Aggression Act and the Return of Investments in the Public Telecommunications Network Act.

Upon adopting the Public Funds Act, the name of Slovenski odškodninski sklad, d.d., was changed to Slovenska odškodninska družba, d.d.

Slovenska odškodninska družba, d.d., (hereinafter: the company) was set up as a public limited company, whose sole founder and shareholder is the Republic of Slovenia. The company’s headquarters are located in Ljubljana, at Mala ulica 5.
